Baby It’s Cold Outside

you can be the lady in red
whilst i’m striking in blue
i don’t adhere to the rules
i’d rather create my own
party season is here
but don’t neglect your daily style
every day is an adventure
for a new outfit
be fun, be weird
be unapologetically yourself

As it turns colder outside and winter slowly approaches, our layers multiple. If you’re anything like me you still want to look stylish, sometimes you just want to rock that new skirt or sparkly dress despite the decreasing temperatures. I say, do it, just look fabulous in the process. Everyday style is as essential as party wear, there are a few boxes that need to be checked. The outfit must be comfortable, easy to move around so you can accomplish your goals like a winter chic boss and have an extra sparkle as it’s the festive season. A pop of colour, detailing or an added shine factor all count for the latter, no matter your style there’s an accessory that will work for you.

As it’s sweater season I rummaged through my wardrobe to find a bold blue piece as the focal point for my outfit. For the past few months, I have been enjoying the blue colour family, whether it’s through navy pants or a striking velvet bralette that has appeared on my insta-stories, more times than I would wish to admit. Want to incorporate more colour into your wardrobe? Here’s my advice, choose a colour that you’re comfortable with and try different hues of that shade, some darker, others bold and bright. The more you experiment with a colour your comfortable with, you open yourself up to the idea of stepping out and trying a colour or even a print that you otherwise would have never looked twice at.

Back to the¬†jumper, I picked this beauty up last year during the December sales from M&S, it’s warm and stylish with subtle ruffle detailing on the wrists and chest area. As I wanted the attention on the jumper I decided to pair it with black clothing with silver details. Normally my skirts are simple and plain, so I opted for a black lace-up number instead. It works well dressed up with a pair of stiletto¬†heel boots, crop top and longline coat, or dressed down with long socks, sneakers and an oversized jumper. Keeping accessories and makeup simple, I decided to compliment my jumper with silver earrings and clay lip stain that I purchased on my recent trip to Marrakech.
