Christmas Decoration Inspiration

Decorations on a white Christmas tree

can you smell christmas in the air?
happiness surrounding us all
festive music playing in the distance
warm fireplaces covered with stockings
tinsel spiralling around
candles lighting the sky
santa’s coming, a mother cries
get to bed
or coal is what you earn
bells jingling
a flash of red
the excitement rises
an adventure awaits

Blogmas is in full effect, are you feeling jolly? Perhaps like Chandler, you’re in the mood to shake your belly like a bowl full of jelly. If not, what better way to get into the festive spirit than decorating your home with Christmassy goodness. This year I decided to go with a red and gold theme for my Christmas decoration. As of recent, the colour gold has been more appealing to me. A colour associated with compassion, wisdom and grandeur, paired with a feisty red creates a killer combo. Some essentials like tinsel, baubles, candles and of course fairy lights are all filling my home with seasonal joy. Two things I adore that create a calming atmosphere are burning candles and incense. A new season requires a new scent, whether that’s cinnamon in autumn or a subtle rose in summer, what’s your 2017 Christmas scent? The aroma I’m met with daily when I enter my bedroom is currently Mulled Wine; I received a candle by Chelsea Candle at a blogger’s event earlier this year which I saved precisely for this season. With the house filled with festive cheer, it’s time to think about the next step, food. I’m on cooking duty this year, excited about the task I decided to research various dishes. One thing that’s certainly making an appearance on the menu will be sweet potato pie, let’s see if I do the recipe justice and impress my family. Sugar, spice and everything is the motto of the kitchen this year. Decorations, food, movie marathons, what are you most excited about?
