Now when most people upload a collection blog post or video, they’re usually referring to their designer purchases. Honestly, I’m not at that stage yet, my favourite shop (without a doubt) has to be Accessorize, for all my handbag needs and wants. A few years ago this wasn’t the case at all, I didn’t own a single handbag. I use to be the girl who loyally rocked the backpack, to the extent my best friend would tease me and say you can’t be fifty and still be wearing a backpack. At the time I ignored the comment but as my interest in fashion increased, I started purchasing new items for my wardrobe, and that included handbags. I purchased my first one right before the start of university from Debenhams. It was the ideal size, not too big or small, and had various pockets, I was in love with that bag, any time there would be a special occasion, that would be my go-to bag, as I was still an avid backpack wearer. Despite the end coming for that bag, I’m now left with a collection of beloved bags that can be worn for various occasions.
A medium bag is usually the ideal size I look for in an everyday bag, being spacious enough to hold all the items I take with me on a daily. If you would like to see a What’s In My Bag blog post, do let me know in the comments below. Colour is important as well, I typically opt for neutral tones as they work best with most outfits. I received a beautiful red bag for my birthday (though I wouldn’t have chosen it myself), I appreciated the present as on my adventurous days it completes my statement looks and gives me an extra ounce of confidence. As for clutches, smaller handbags, I opt for statement styles, whether that’s through sparkles, prints, or detailing. When I visited Ghana, (read all about the trip here) the best souvenir I could get to remember my time there was through fashion. I bought myself a beautiful clutch with a bold pattern. It’s great for parties, date night, or a simple dinner, (as are most of my clutches), I typically take my black and gold clutches to the club and bar, they’re subtle and wouldn’t get ruined in such surroundings. That was my (ever-growing) handbag collection, so much so, that I’m already on the hunt for my next one. Recently I’ve been lusting over the khaki Boy Chanel Flap Bag, one day I’ll purchase that but for now, I’ll settle for the Mango Chain Bag.
What’s your favourite bag that you’ve purchased?
Until next time, stay blessed and classy,
