Jingle bells, jingle bells. As December is here there are 31 days left (including today) of 2016. Who’s ready to make the most of this month? I know I am. My aim is to welcome the new month and the coming year with nothing but happiness. For example, this is the first year I’m participating in blogmas, and I’m excited. From decorating the house to baking Christmas goodies, and sharing festive outfit inspirations are just a few of the posts. It’s challenging to think of new content daily with so many involved, but I accept the challenge of bringing you entertainment and festive cheer straight to your screens. The first post is a personal reflection of the past year, although brief, I touch on key topics that occurred in my life, that involves the highs and the lows.
Honestly, when thinking back to this year, 2016 has been a compilation of successes and defeats. Although I lost what seemed like a piece of me when someone left my side, there were many positives to the year. Through hard work and dedication, I graduated university obtaining a degree in media studies and communications. After three years of studying, I was able to travel and experience the culture of India once again. Travelling enhances our understanding of the world we live in, if we never travel, we live with a shallow mindset of what’s beyond our local neighbourhood. I wish to make it my aim for 2017 that I will travel to at least two different countries, embrace the culture and experience what realness the country has to offer, not just the tourist attractions. This year I have been watching more and more vloggers on YouTube and decided I want to be a part of that community, sharing meaningful content that most can relate to. I would love to promote body confidence, unification of women, and music which unites us all – from chart-toppers to upcoming musicians. To achieve in life, you have to leave your comfort zone, hence I have vowed to myself 2017 will be the year of risks, where I pursue exactly what I wish to – whether it’s career, friendship, or new experiences, it’s personal to me.
Speaking of music, I had to share a Punjabi song with you all which I have been obsessed with recently and tends to stay on repeat. A talented singer who goes by the name Nimrat Khaira, she released her latest single Salute Wajde in July, one word to describe the song is bass. Nimrat describes her ideal partner, stating he would be well respected and make her proud. She goes on to express characteristics he would possess, one being he would be traditional with impeccable personal dress sense.
Overall how’s 2016 been for you?
Until next time, stay blessed and classy,
