Ervin Mitchell – King Shit EP Review

It’s music time, more specificially an EP to review. Ervin Mitchell recently released his long awaited EP, King Shit. The project features a luscious EDM and alternative influenced production with heartfelt lyrics. Ervin wrote this project two years ago during the roughest period in his life. He lets his listeners know that it’s okay to be themselves and to be vulnerable. Everyone has the right to express themselves, don’t let society intimidate you into thinking otherwise. Break the norms, and express yourself, it often leads to great results. The message of the project is that we all go through things and despite the obstacles we have the ability to unlock the King(s) and Queen(s) within us all.

The EP starts with a triumphant and hectic freestyle called Rumble, that catches the listener from the beginning, once caught Ervin Mitchell then proceeds to slow it down for the rest of the tape. Speaking from the heart over some very memorable samples in stand out tracks like Stay and Dear Winter. An EP filled with depth, stories, and great wisdom. Let’s not forget about the old school instrumentals, that gives the listener a relax and calming feeling. Within each song, there is a strong message about expansion of wisdom and knowledge. We’re not all  Kings and Queens, we lie somewhere in between, but we have the ability to better ourselves. It’s time to be awakened, explore our mind, and embrace the renewal of our soul, we have so far to go. Let’s start the journey today!
