Makhna (ਮੱਖਣਾ) Love Song Mash-up

According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves. - Plato

Love is a complex concept yet used all over the entertainment spectrum, from movies to songs to games, we simply can't get enough. Infatuated with another being, intertwining our souls, becoming the unit that according to Greek mythology was split many centuries ago. Singers create mash-up covers, so I decided to adopt the idea by creating a mash-up post, discussing the different stages of love.

Assalamualaikum
Sat Sri Akal
Love has several languages
I speak them all
Lust, desire or true love
Whichever it may be
You got me hooked on this feeling
My freakiness is on the loose
And running all over you
Let's close the distance
Misbehave for a while
Good girl turned bad
I'm too lit to dim down
When I'm you
All I get are wild thoughts
If you're not here, nobody else to impress
Tennis shoes, no need to buy a new dress
Look at what you've done to me
It's the beat that my heart skips
Just at the thought of you
Got me looking so crazy
Calling your name two three times in a row
And I don't know what to do
Loss of words
I think I'd lie for you
I think I'd die for you
Jodeci Cry For You
Do things that you want me to
Everyone falls in love sometimes
I don't know 'bout you but it ain't a crime
Though not perfect
It's worth the risk
We connect in many ways
Smile whenever I think of you
Lost without, stronger together
I need a gangster
To love me better
To be my ride or die
The escape I need in a confused world
You're the only thing that makes sense
The ying to my yang
The Aladdin to my Jasmin
Let's soar the summer skies
On a magical carpet
Create memories on the way
As I am that butterfly
That found true happiness
With you

  1. I absolutely love that theory from Plato (tbh I love anything related to Greek mythology) and your idea of doing a mash up is really interesting!

  2. Like Lizzie, I'm a huge fan of Greek mythology and I think that quote from Plato is just perfect! Your words are so perfectly chosen as usual and the post really resonated with me, "The Aladdin to my Jasmine" really made me smile - love a good Disney reference! You look gorgeous in your photos too!

  3. I agree with Lizzie - really interesting concept. It's so true though, all humans seek companionship.

Hm, I've been on that R&B kick - I don't have a favorite but the last song I just listened to was "I'm still in love with you" by New Edition.
