Phenomenal Woman, That Is I.

I've learned that fear limits you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path. Transforming fear into freedom - how great is that? - Soledad O'Brien

Over the long weekend, the weather has been unpredictable, embracing the emotional nature of humanity. We have seen a mixture of hot afternoons (happiness) and rainy evenings (sadness) not to mention the odd thunder and lightening (anger). We start with stars in our eyes, as life continues and we begin to grow, the obstacles we face may erase our shine or encourage it to beam brighter than ever before. Tell me one thing, what do you want in life? A successful career, the luxurious items or perhaps a chance to start a family? Focus on life, expand your horizons, the only limitations we have are the ones we set ourselves. We all have insecurities, don't shy away due to a lack of confidence, speak it out. Have a conversation with your inner queen, let her advise you on how to conquer your life. We must redefine and reshape how women are perceived. For too long we have been divided, wars with one another, rather than sourcing the problem. As women, we are phenomenal creatures, as Beyoncé mentions we're smart enough to make millions, strong enough to bear children then get back to business. Straight from the heart to the page, let's forget about being cool, honesty is the way forward, share those emotions that you so wish to hide or feel others don't experience. Be sad, be vulnerable, be passionate, most importantly be you.

A tool for expression, a humble contraption, the instrument of choice a pen and a 'pad. We're all creating art, from the vocals of musicians to the brush strokes of painters. Writing is therapeutic for me, everything isn't meant to be shared for the public eye to scrutinize, trusting ourselves the most, we're content with the secrets we keep yet what are our priorities? The values and standards I hold are to uplift, encourage and spread love to those around me, hate (and fear) can never be the influencing force that defeats the problems of the world. We. Need. Love. First within ourselves before spreading it outwards, we need one another, ladies we can create nations. It makes you wonder if we as a gender possess power, why do we worry about trivial matters such as body confidence; cellulite can be taken as tiger stripes, wide hips equipped for childbirth, blame societal values. We see each other as competitors, not for achievement but for the attention of others. I have no interest in games, I have an empire to build and positivity to spread. I set myself one goal in 2017, growth. Nothing worthwhile comes easy, finding happiness, connecting with God and focusing on career, in order for change to occur these are the pillars I must concentrate on.

Feminist: A persona who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes. - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

If you could change one thing in your community, what would it be?
