Blogmas | GRWM Christmas Party (Outfit Of The Day)

Elegance is the only beauty that never fades. - Audrey Hepburn

Party season is here, somebody invite me to some parties, I have new clothes that need to be worn and photographed. That's honestly the way I think, I have more clothes than functions that they can be worn to. Recently my mother and I went to a small Christmas party, as soon as she told me about it, I was already thinking that it was the perfect occasion to dress up. Twinning with my partner in crime, my mother's style is impeccable at times, due to this, she loves to call me out on my style. Stating I'm dressing like an old woman, some would call it classic or vintage in my opinion. Anyway, back to the Christmas party, it was an evening of dancing, food, and entertainment. We were even among the winners of the Christmas raffle, awarded with a box of chocolates and shopping vouchers.

Makeup is not my strong point, I'm constantly learning when it comes to beauty. In addition to this, I tend to stick to a simple makeup routine, add a pop of colour is usually my aim. Although I do watch makeup tutorials where YouTubers transform from all natural to beauty goddess, it's honestly not my thing. I keep it fairly simple, from moisturising my face, to concealing spots and under eye darkness, then covering my face in (powder) foundation. After that I focus on my eyes, using my go-to MUA Undressed Palette, an eye pencil, and mascara, this would make my eyes bolder and exude confidence. Once I feel my eyes have been perfected, I move onto my lips, lining them with a wine lip pencil, before mixing a nude lipstick and a light pink liquid lipstick, almost matching the colour of my dress. Once everything is set, I lightly brush my last coat of foundation, and I'm set. My hair was still wet, so I merely let it down, brushed it and let it dry naturally, I knew it would compliment the style as my hair is naturally curly.

Modern elegance is how I would describe my style of the night. I instantly knew I wanted to wear a dress, especially as I hadn't had a chance to wear any of my newly purchased dresses. Once that was established, the issue moved onto which colour, style, and type of dress I wanted to wear for the evening, something that made me feel glamorous yet comfortable. When I looked into the closet, my eyes caught an autumn pink bodycon dress, it was seasonal and subtle, exactly the look I wanted to achieve. Sticking with the theme of simplicity, the only jewellery I chose to wear was a dainty gold necklace (and go-to ring). The necklace appealed to my inner Audrey Hepburn, as it added a sense of elegance to the outfit. I paired the dress with nude velvet boots, they were comfortable, had a bit of heel, and were ideal for a casual celebration. I paired the entire look with my winter robe coat, the faux fur only added to the glamorous style.
