Blogmas | Christmas Sparkle (Outfit Of The Day)

Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live. - Gianni Versace

Occasionally we don't want to dress up and opt for the casual style, it's not a crime we all have those days. There is a trick, however, to turn a seemingly simple outfit into laid-back glamour, this can be achieved through accessories. When it comes to shopping, I'm a self-proclaimed shopaholic, I know I don't need it, but I so desperately want it, look at the shade I convince myself, it would look cute in an outfit. This is how I've ended up with a house full of accessories, ranging from handbags in all sizes, jewellery, scarves in all textures; I honestly need help.

I wanted to be comfortable when I went to meet my friends for a casual meal (Chinese to be exact, it tasted so delicious). As we were only going locally, it wasn't necessary to put as much effort into my outfit for the evening. Christmas Sparkle revolves around simplicity, I paired black velvet trousers with a pastel pink jumper. As I wasn't showing any flesh in the outfit, heels were a good option, as it took the look from drab to glam in an instant. I clipped half of my hair up, to bring attention to my face, and tame my thick hair, it looked sleek rather than a wild mess.

By choosing the clipped hairstyle, it resulted in highlighting my silver globe studs. Continuing with the theme of silver, I paired my plain jumper with a statement necklace (which I actually bought in India, a little gift to myself you could say). Recently in fashion, previous rules have disappeared which allowed me to wear silver and gold in the same outfit. I wore a black and gold watch, keeping to the theme of simplicity when choosing the arm candy for the night. The reason I opted for a gold (and black) was so it would match with other aspects of my outfit. Yes, I'm that kind of girl, I like to match, I can't help it. My other statement piece for the night was a glittery gold clutch which I thought was perfect for the Christmas season.
