OOTD | Night At The Theatre

Self-esteem doesn't come simply from dressing well, but they are both something we can control. It's a missed opportunity when women say they don't have the money, figure, etc., because style is such a way to help cultivate the way women feel about themselves. - Stacy London

As we're heading into the party season full of festivities and cheer, it's time to glam ourselves up. I enjoy getting dressed up, I tend to be the friend who's overdressed for most occasions, but I can't help it. Fashion is art, and I wish to express myself fully through it, whether it's pain or happiness, simplicity is key. Never let an outfit wear you, own your confidence and slay any occasion. We only get one chance to leave a good impression, make it count in your favour. My motto is to dress how you want to be addressed, hence I try to tune into my inner girl boss. Lately I've been watching Ugly Betty (I may be hooked to the series), from watching I'm certain I adore Wilhelmina Slater's whole wardrobe, am I alone in this? The luxurious garments, silk blouses, fitted dresses, and statement jewellery, how could I not be fond of her style, not to mention her drive to succeed.

Fashion is a dream that we put on every morning, my inspiration for this outfit was fearless boss fused with glamour. This style would be appropriate for high-profile events, dinners, or a night at the theatre, as it signifies elegance with a modern twist. I decided to pair the long body-con dress with a pastel faux fur scarf as it signifies luxury and glamour. The different shades of pink add a sense of romance to the ambiance of the outfit. Following this trend, I added a red handbag with gold detail, as it's a bright colour it instantly screams statement piece. The jewellery was kept simple with a black and gold watch, double oval stud earrings, and a religious bracelet (also known in Sikhism as a kara). To finish the outfit off were cut out, peep toe high heels. The only thing missing was a long black coat, but no fear I ordered one during the black Friday sales - I'm now eagerly awaiting its arrival.
