Who Am I? (feat. Shocka and Aye Nizzy)

Things can be really empty in this world, and I don't just mean the music world. It can become a very meaningless place if you don't really understand: 'who am I? Why am I here? What am I doing?' To feel fulfilment and have a deeper level of understanding, personally, that is the most important thing. - Alicia Keys

In a technologically advanced society, with emphasis on materialism, we seem to neglect our relationship with ourselves. Everything around us is a mirror, every year, month, and day there's a new distraction to keep us engrossed in generic stories. To break out of this spell, and become awakened, we need to focus on LOVE, don't judge one another, embrace your neighbour's culture, values, and beliefs. We're more similar than we imagine, corruption simply divides us, because united we're a force to be reckoned with.

Don't judge me, please don't judge me, I just want to help the world, but before that, I need to help myself. I'm still a work in progress, on a journey to better myself. On a sleepless night, contemplating the direction of my life, I look at a mirror on a deeper level, asking myself who am I? I was merely presented with silence because in reality I actually don't have an answer. With values thrust upon me, labels pigeon-holing me, without looking within, there will never be a definitive answer. Before I go out into the world and truly chase my dreams, I need to understand and save my soul. We're souls with temporary vessels, figuring out our purpose on earth, impacting it in a positive way before leaving.

I couldn't answer it about myself, but how do you define yourself?

Until next time, stay blessed and classy,

  1. Loved this post! So much positivity and very true. I feel like too often we also fall back on the idea that we need to 'find ourselves' when actually we have ability to create ourselves and not let stereotypes get in our way or define us. No one can tell us who we are apart from ourselves- and we get to choose who to be!

    1. Aww I'm glad you enjoyed my post! It's very true, we have the ability to create ourselves, after all happiness is a choice, and we must create a version of ourselves that we're happy with, not what the world is happy with.

  2. I've always liked to think that I'm not who I am yet, but every day I get a little bit closer to her. What I experience, what I surround myself with and the choices I make turn me into me, and I try to make sure I like the person I am at the end of each day! I think that's probably the best I can do :)
